She's got a one track mind.

Allison, my dear little one, only wants to eat pancakes.

That's it. Pancakes. If we are somewhere that doesn't have pancakes, she'll eat something else. But at home, she knows pancakes can be made from the box in the freezer, from the just-add-water mix in the cupboard and even from scratch. I can't tell her "we're out!" without her pointing out we are not, in fact, out.

I am able to put some butternut squash or sweet potato puree in it (~love~ the book "deceptively delicious"). Oooo. I just thought about adding banana puree. She'd dig that. And I am able to get some chunks of fresh fruit in her as a side.

But, hrm. Pancakes it seems to be. I don't mind her eating them, I know she'll eventually get out of her rut, but man, I would not be able to eat the same thing day after day after day after day ...

I remember a time when my son would only eat Top Raman, Hot dogs or cereal. That was it. Amazing they survive, but they do.
I didn’t have "deceptively delicious" but I did have one like it, It helps a lot to sneak in other foods.

My girl only wants noodles. It doesn't matter what kind of noodle, but they HAVE to be noodles.

My boy still will eat yogurt nonstop all day if I allowed it. Thats all he wants.

I am glad I don;t have to eat one thing all the time. YUCK

When I was between the ages of 4 and 8 I only ate mac & cheese, the cheap Kraft kind and that was it.

Must be the age...this is the case at my house right now, too. I make the batter with whole wheat or buckwheat flour, then mix in baby food purees like apple/vanilla, banana, or (our current favorite)sweet potato. Then I mix in some cinnamon or pumpkin pie spice and keep it in the refrigerator so Max can have them whenever he wants (which is , um, ALL the time). I add the fruits and veggies so I don't feel quite so guilty (a la Deceptively Delicious, a favorite of mine, too).

I would always be into a particular food. For ages it was indeed pancakes. I was old enough to make them myself (7 or 8) and I ate them all the time until I was completely and utterly sick of them.

Granny used to look after us on Friday nights and I had maybe 4 different meals over the course of a decade lol.

TBB doesn't want the same thing in his school lunchbox 2 days in a row, weird child!
