The "R Us" stores are evil.

I stopped at BRU today to get a travel swing. I'm heading to my inlaws (without hubby) in the morning and we need a swing or I'll lose my sanity. I ended up out of the store without getting anything extra like I usually do and only had to pay for what I expected to pay for.

As I'm leaving, my mother in law calls and asks me to pick up a booster seat for her house (for allie) and I was all "I just left there!" but decided to go to Toys R Us instead to pick it up. I wanted to get some lap-tables for the girls to have to color on during our drive since I won't have anyone else in the car to help me with dealing with their requests. I went in and made the mistake of "looking around" and especially did the wrong thing when I went into the video game aisle. I left with a $487 purchase. And I didn't even get the effing booster seat! Back to BRU for the booster seat, but I got out, once again, with just that one item.

It used to be going to the gap or old navy where I'd always get tons of shit for myself. Now I blow all my money in kid stores. Argh!! See what being a mom does to us shop-a-holics?

All right Nancy! Way to stimulate the economy! (I would fall over dead if I tried to spend $487 on anything. I am in awe)

Damn, I could have gave you a coupon for there I have, save $10 for every $75 dollar you spend, I could have saved you almost $70 bucks and then you could have went and spent that on you! :)

We don't even have a BRU here which sucks, all we have is a TRU with a very small baby section. Booo.

Morgan! Send it to me! I can take my receipt and still use the coupons!

they are pure evil!
For me it is target- I go in for toilet paper & end up spending way too much on stuff I didn't think I needed (and probably didn't!)

I loved my travel swing! I kepy it in the bathroom so I could shower!
I hear ya about the shopping although I usually try to buy things used if I can. Bit of a pain in the ass but I save so much money that way!

I always end up buying more than I intend to.

*Sigh* And every once in awhile I will wonder if it's pathetic that I get all excited when I find diapers on sale!!!

That's probably one of few thing I dont have an addiction too, video games, they drive me crazy (cant even stand to buy them, I'm a mean mom). But I'm not a TV person either. I do watch but not often, (or as often as statistics say americans watch TV, I like movies on the weenend nights and baby shows right now and have a few fav's if I have time I'll watch)
Shop-a-holic tho, I understand, I'm in a 12 step program for that too. And doing quite weller. I only relaps about one or two times a month ;)

I've never heard of the travel swing. I'm going to have to go cyber shoping now.

Details Nancy! What did you buy? Let me live vicariously since I'm spending my money on wool for knitting diaper covers.

Ahhh....not ToysRus! ;P I worked there for 4 years (actually I met my DH there). It is SO hard not to buy stuff when you work there. I'd buy crap I didn't need just because it was on sale or a good deal (this was pre-child). Now, I just have to buy Abby at least something. I try not to go in unless I have to or I'd spend more than I'd want to.

Oh I know, those stores are like candy for us shopaholics. Is it wrong that even though I'm not pregnant yet, I still buy baby clothes and spend time designing a nursery in my mind?

Oh but just wait -- someday you'll get to shop WITH your girls...and how fun will that be?

I tried to leave you a comment on your other blog today but it said I wasn't a "team member" or something like that?
