Worst Mother Ever.

I forgot to pick up my daughter from kindergarten. I had an atrocious headache and went to last down (it was only 2pm). Next thing I know my husband is calling me asking me where the hell I am and didn't I realize it was 4pm? (I pick up Ella at 3:30).

Oh. My. God.

I slept through picking up my kids.

Good thing she has a teacher who stays to 6pm because she carpools with her husband and Ella was in her room playing with her daughters, both of whom are in girl scouts with her.

Still. I slept through it. I feel tiny and like a horrible mother.

It will be ok! Luckily she will eventually forget- unlike the hub who reminds me at least 4 or 5 times a year 'remember that time I got in a car accident & you FELL ASLEEP FOR HOURS- leaving me on the side of the road?

(In my defense I hadn't slept in literally 5 days for school & I ~did~ ask if he was ok before passing out again...)
At least you got up & went to get her! Seriously- you are an awesome mom!

Better to "forget" her than for your blinding headache to turn into a migraine and make you dangerous on the roads. You didn't forget her, anyway. You overslept because you didn't realize you'd need to be woken up.

Oh Nancy... I understand why you're devestated by this but.. don't beat yourself up over it. Ella was safe and everything worked out. You had a very good excuse and you're an awesome mom!

You are not the worst mother ever. No one is perfect.

It's ok honey...it happens to the best of us.

We started feeding Jonah breakfast here instead of at day care. That means he has been pooping his pants in the car, and the teacher has had to change him as soon as I drop him off. I swear we don't time it that way- but I wonder what she thinks of us...

You are not a horrible mother, you are simply human. We all make mistakes.

Eh...it happens. If it was a constant thing then the teacher might begin to wonder. Us teacher wish we had more Moms like you that actually care about and for their children like you do!

Try not to worry about it...just apologize to the teacher and move on. I doubt she minded anyway if she stays late already.

You are so not a bad mother. You weren't feeling well, so you laid down. No big deal. My dad once went to pick me up at Hebrew school when I was at acting class, so I literally sat there for an hour waiting for someone to figure out that I wasn't home. lol oops!

OMG!!! I thought i was the only worst mother in the world!!! On Wed, Thurs, and Fridays I take a late lunch to pick up my oldest son from Kindergarten. Yesterday, I was so wrapped up in excel spreadsheets...I completely forgot. Thankfully, my neighbor's sister in law was there and called me. She was able to take him with her and I picked him up from her house.
